JASTRAM 2004 - CURRENT DIRECTORY |
The choice of the type determines the performance characteristics of the steering system. A non follow-up power unit (also called a "time dependent" power unit) has a solenoid valve output connected to the steering actuator. Operation of this system is generally either full on or full off. A Jastram full follow-up power unit has a proportional valve output connected to the steering actuator. Operation of this system is smooth and precise. The steering actuator accelerates up to full speed and then decelerates as it approaches its required position. Motion storage permits the steering wheel to be turned quickly to its desired position regardless of the operating speed of the steering actuator. Both types of Jastram hydraulic power units are available in a wide selection of sizes and designs to meet electrical supply and rudder speed specifications. Contact us for more information
